What a heartbreaking post, I’ll never understand how some can mistreat and abuse dogs. The work you and the team are doing is nothing short of incredible.
If a genie granted me one wish, it would be to spare dogs (and other animals) from the cruelty humans inflict for no reason at all. What about peace for humans? Not even a genie could fix that—people will always find a reason to hurt and kill each other over power and made-up stories. But I will never understand the pure, senseless malice against dogs.
We were so shocked by your earlier posts, those poor dogs. How can anyone get so angry that they go out and poison friendly, trusting dogs. What a cruel, slow, painful way for them to die. You must be devastated. Please take some time out to recharge yourself , your body and soul are telling you that you are at your limit. You will be no good to anyone if you don't look after yourself. We are so very sorry this has happened, words are not enough sometimes 😞
I can never comprehend the sheer deliberate cruelty from a minority of people in this world. Whilst most go out of their way to help a dog at a time of suffering, and your IG account shows people's kindness a 100 times over, it's so distressing to know there are such cruel and evil people out there who would easily kill without even a backward look. Everything you say Niall is very true and I know all who follow and support you, know the risks you take every single day in your mission to help the street dogs. I hope whoever has done this as well as the powers that be, take note that they need to play their part to help stop this, otherwise allowing things like this to continue are only doing more bad to the country's reputation in regards to the cruelty that is going unpunished. They should be supporting you and applauding your kindness in respect of all you do, not forgetting the lovely local people you are employing who assist you every day. You've done well to highlight all the good people that stepped up and they're a reminder that there is more good in the world than there is evil but my God you'd be a rock if you weren't feeling angry and upset. I hope karma deals those responsible a really good lesson.

Big love back to you as well. What I do not understand is why there are not local people on the island who find this unacceptable and are willing to file charges against these people. Same with Alba and the way she was obviously starved and mistreated. I know you work with many lovely local people, and there are dog lovers on your island. I also understand that as a foreigner, you have to be careful what you do. But my question is why are the local Thai people not addressing this issue, and allowing this cruelty to dogs to go on unchecked? I wish you the best, my friend.

It’s so difficult to understand why this would happen. Whoever did this must surely know that your long term goal is to neuter and reduce the population of street dogs. If they don’t like the dogs they should be thrilled that you are working to reduce numbers. My heart goes out to you and all the poor dogs that suffered by ingesting that horrible poison. What an awful time it is for you. Thank you for being so strong in spite of everything Niall.
Humans can be so cruel. Thank you Niall for also highlighting how amazingly loving humans can be too. Just breaks my heart to know there are people that are so cruel. It scares me to think if they can do this to innocent animals what are they are capable of doing to someone who has offended them in some way.
