Niall this must have been another tough one to write. I watched your story of Derek when I first woke up yesterday morning, and listening to his breathing and the tone in your voice, I just knew you were about to say goodbye. When your post came up later of this dear sweet old boy passing I sat and sobbed out loud. I lost my own dog in 22, and Derek had become my support dog. What a wonderful last 14 months you gave him. And a lovely promise. I know you’ll see your boy right. Such a dignified dog, he deserved the world and you gave it to him. I’ll now be thinking about Jumbo, both boys the bestest boys there ever was.
So much outpouring from us over your losses shows how much you and the team and all the dogs touch our hearts. It’s such a lovely community, and heals jaded souls that see so much atrocity in the world. It’s a busy time coming up, I’m going to see if I can get some pennies collected from my family over the Christmas period to send. Take care and a merry Christmas to all of you and your followers xx

Derek knocked me sideways as he seemed to be improving but it was not to be. I know caring for seniors is perhaps even more heartbreaking than the younger ones but you are right to do this. Who else would feed them sausages,.let them share their bed and hold their paws at the bed. We know Jumbo will soon follow on but I will just say this - you gave them five star everything for the little time they were with you. I defy anyone to do better. Bless you all XXX
Niall, it’s not silly at all to make promises to Derek. If he couldn’t understand them before he passed, he does now. He’ll continue to support you in a different manner, along with Snoop and Tina. They all agree with us….you are the best friend there ever was for them. Much love and support is sent to you - now and always.

Niall you and all the team are so inspirational, along with the precious dogs too. I love watching the special treat days like Christmas Lunch. It fills my heart with love, pride and so many tears. Although the street dogs don't have forever homes and life is tough for them they are so well looked after with food, medicine and so much love. I'm so glad I came across you and your work, even though it truly breaks my heart at times and I'm not even on the front line. I do think you have a wonderful community of supporters because we are all so invested with what you are doing and we all love and appreciate how life changing and wonderful dogs are. Please try to find some happiness at Christmas, knowing along with the sadness you've made all the dogs lives so much better all year round and at the very end.
