I think most people following along have been captivated by the story of Britney and her puppies. She was the dog who had a padlock around her neck, who wanted to attack me and who had very sick puppies covered in ticks. After several weeks of turmoil and what were effectively 2 rescues all 5 puppies have been re-homed around the country.
That leaves Britney. I’ve decided to keep her but there is a lot more to it than that…
Britney Took Us All On A Journey
Despite everybody loving Britney (myself included) she is not a straightforward adoption. She has…
Bitten a volunteer
Tried to attack me initially for several days
Tried to bite many other people trying to help her including vets
Nipped at my dog Snoop
Does not get along with other dogs very well at all
It took me a long time to gain her trust but because of her upbringing and past (who knows what she went through) she is not a very trusting dog. There will be a lot of work to do with her and she is not suited to a home or for travel to another country right now.
Anybody watching the videos I’ve shared though can see the personality in there. The love that wants to come out despite everything that has been thrown at her. I know dogs and she is a wonderful creature but she needs some special care which I’ll give to her.
Britney’s New Home
I’m always talking about things I have planned in the background. The good news is that I have secured some land which you can see below. I’ve been planning this for months alongside the day to day with the dogs. It is being cleared and there are big things happening here in the next month to help a lot more dogs.
A wonderful community of people led by Taay and Amelia started a campaign to help me last week and I want to use that goodwill to build a small sanctuary in honour of that support. It will be a place for the most needy and special case dogs. Britney will be the very first resident.
Unlike places she has been before it is private land and she will be safe there. Her struggle will be over. Add in the fact that she was sterilised this week and had full health checks and her life is about to get a lot better. It will be her forever home.
Theres a lot of work to do on figuring out her exact living arrangements but thats what I am doing this week.
The land is about the size of half a football pitch. Everything I’ve talked about previously in terms of helping dogs will happen here. My aim is to go from 80 dogs being looked after daily at the moment to around 500 per day by the end of September. A big jump.
Britney just got lucky with her timing and the wonderful online support so that we can also find a lovely little corner for her home where she will be loved, safe and blossom into the dog we all know she is.
5 puppies re-homed and Britney having her very own home built from scratch. There are still some logistics to do but it is very close to a fairytale ending!
I couldn’t do a tenth of this without the support of people in the real world and online willing me on and helping in 100s of different ways. The support saves dogs lives. Simple as that.
Big Love
Niall
P.S I share most of Britney’s story on Instagram and TikTok if you want to follow along there.

I love all that you do to help the dogs. Like to see regularly videos on them all checking how they are. Britney I am so excited about her future with you, who she trusts. Better than winning the lottery! Though if I did I could donate more. Well done Niall and all your helpers locally and elsewhere. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾🐾🐾
