All your work and that of your team is amazing. But Niall! The girls in India is taking your mission into another world. When you feel down and hopeless, remember that all this social media, that many people disparage, has touched young people in another place and started a movement, a legacy. Your work will never be done but the next generation is working to save dogs. 💚
I have been touched by the little girl who looked after Bambino and would like to suggest that, as part of your education programme, you distribute badges to children saying "I love dogs" or "I save dogs" or something like that so that they are part of a club. You could also do the same with Happy Doggo teeshirts. I think the little girl who saved Bambino would also enjoy a tour of the land so that she can see what happens to the dogs you help and she might be encouraged to come and work with you in a few years' time. Or perhaps your Thai colleagues could suggest a different reward for children who have nothing. I hope this is useful to you. Best regards

Fantastic ideas! Awards given to the young begin a change in the population as these youngsters grow up and have become aware that education, kindness and true affection for dogs (and other animals) is a good thing.
I love this badge idea. Could you imagine having different badges for different levels of support? Almost like Boy Scouts, Brownies or martial arts; when you save or help 10 dogs, you get a yellow badge. When you help 20, an orange badge. Could we incentivate good-spirited competition to save and better lives?
They are… precious beautiful fabulous little creatures. You said once “we domesticated them so we need to care for them” and it’s so true. My dog has the life of a princess so I’ll help you all for as long as I can xxxxxx
Niall, you do incredible work & because of you & Tina (& so many more who are gone now 🌈), after 4+ yrs you are beginning to see "seeds that are being planted & starting to grow." Lots of days must seem overwhelming, frustrating, depressing, hopeless & even anger, but you are making a difference....one dog at a time, one human at a time. Almost every stranger I talk to knows the Irish Doggo guy from Thailand. I am proud to be a member & donate frequently. 🐾🇺🇸
Thank you Niall, your writing and your work gives me hope for all the good in the world. And it inspires me to keep being part of that good. I hope you're going ok and I'm very sorry about dear Coconut. I'm grateful he is remembered, as he should be. Much love and gratitude for you ❤️🙌
It will take a long time but your message is starting to get across. We adore our fur babies and they are part of the family but dogs are not seen that way in other parts of the world. That’s why we are all so supportive of happy doggos mission. You guys are making a huge difference already so keep going and focus on the positives. So many dogs have been saved and living their best lives because of you and your work/legacy will continue for years to come. The word is spreading… 🐶💚🥰
Another wonderful account Niall. Your work is so challenging, heartbreaking and yet uplifting at the same time. The ripples are definitely spreading far and wide. Long may it continue.
Thank you for everything that you and your team does - it helps animals and people too , understanding needs to be there for change and you are working so hard to have that happen. It’s a joy to be able to watch and see the impact .
I have also been inspired by you and taken on the sterilization of street dogs in Nepal as a personal mission. I cannot make a huge impact as an organization, but I can make impact on the dog's life that has been sterilized. With collaboration with local caretakers and trustworthy organizations, I have sterilized over 100 dogs in 2025. This has been only possible by following Happy Doggo content and learning the importance of sterilization.
How remarkable - what a difference you have personally made not just to those 100 dogs, but to the communities they live in. I commend you for your work - it is always so comforting to know of people like you in this world.
To see the impact you’re having around the world is so inspiring during these very dark days. Yes, humans have always been the problem. There are those who are outwardly cruel; they are easier to identify but so damaging to the spirit, even knowing they exist let alone being able to do something about them. Then there are the legions of others who are not outwardly cruel but simply apathetic. Eventually, change will come to those infected by apathy as well. I truly believe we will build a better world. Your influence on young people is particularly encouraging. Keep it going, Niall. I can’t love you enough. 💖
Thank you for everything thing you do for these beautiful dogs, when I read your posts I usually weep, sometimes my heartbreaks(especially when I read about Coconut) but when I see the wonderful treatment the dogs receive and the love the dogs have for you and your fantastic team my tears are for happiness.
“The real change has to come by a huge wave of people changing their actions.” This is the secret to saving dogs from humans and saving humans from themselves.
It does begin with human behavior. After all Humans are the dominant species in the world and not everyone is loving and caring. People see good and want to imitate that--the girls...for example. It doesn't stop with "generations. It's an on going process of "doing good" in the world for others and trickling down to others.....same goes in the world of economics...anyway It was great to see a video of you working....Peace.
Your substack today is inspiring and heartbreaking. I purchased the Tina’s kids book for my grand niece and nephew. They are new puppy owners so I am hopeful that Tina’s story will be inspiring to them. Today is the 1 year anniversary of my beloved Opie’s passing. We miss him terribly. We will plant a bush in his memory. ❤️💔🫶🌸🥰
In spite of the dramatic setback , you are gradually changing people's mentality Niall. Rome was not built in a day. You have achieved so much in 4 years and things will evolve for the best , thanks to you and other groups like you in Thailand ! Your work is invaluable. Thank you !!!

Wonderful idea about giving the children "I Love Dogs!" stickers or something. Great idea!

There is a little plaque hanging on my shelf that says "The average dog is a nicer person than the average person." This is SO true!
Thankyou Niall and Happy Doggo team for always being above average, and inspiring the next generation to be stellar humans! 🐾💕
